New Music and Texas Roadtrips

In light of us having a kickin' time in Texas, and as of yet little to no description of what went on there for your mass consumption, we've posted a demo version of one of our newest songs, "Please Baby Please," on our myspace site. It's currently a band favorite to play and we hope you listen to it, add it to your page, tell your friends, tell record label execs., and allow it to tide you over until we post "The Northgate Music Festival Adventure: In Stunning Technicolor."

I promise, I'll get around to writing it one of these days...and I'll worn you now, it's probably going to be a novella.

The Wait Is Just Beginning

We're back from the escapade that was the Northgate Music Festival, and we didn't lose anybody...well, that's not entirely true...but all the details will be written down in the coming days. However, right now I'm waiting to see if I still have a job.

And how's your day going?

The Bruiser

So this St. Patrick's Day we had a show, but earlier in the day we had an adventure. When I say we, I mean Paul and I, and when I say adventure, I mean misadventure. Since getting invited to the Northgate Music Festival, we've been prepping for the trip and St. Patty's mornin' was the time for the van to get "tricked out." We were makin' sure that the TV and VCR was workin'...tryin' to find a way to get the Playstation 2 hooked up, and generally just making sure that we weren't bored for the 13 hour trip.

However, part-way through this all around good time, Paul and I had to travel to a baton competition for reasons that we won't get into right now. So I drove and Paul continued to disassemble most of the technology in the van with just a screwdriver and his heart. After we headed back to...headquarters, a funny thing happened.

Picture this...a beautiful, mid-March, late-afternoon. Paul and I are pulling up to the house, which is located on a one way street. Now my truck is parked on the street infront of the driveway and Paul's car is parked on the street behind the driveway. Keep in mind, I'm not a normal conversion van driver and there was also a freak, total eclipse of the sun right at the exact moment I was pulling into the driveway. Look, I'm not gonna lie...I thought I had more room than I did...so as I casually pulled into the driveway there was that undeniable sound of metal scraping metal. I turned to Paul and, to his credit, he casually said, "That's my car, dude."

Look, the damage isn't important (well, maybe to Paul)...what is important is that we got a great story to tell for the rest of our lives: "Hey, remember that time we were getting the van ready to go to Texas and you hit my car? Yeah, I've always hated you for that."

And thus, the band van now has the nickname of "The Bruiser."

Texas Bound

Well, the big news on our non-existant newspaper is that we're heading to Texas....College Station, Texas to be exact. Why you ask? Well, we're playing in the 2007 Northgate Music Festival, which justifies an exclamation mark!

So, March 23rd we're packin' up a van and a trailer and we're heading south on the 850 mile, 13 hour trip. The festival actually runs from March 22nd - 24th, so theoretically we'll arrive Friday night in College Station and breathe in the festival for a little bit and prepare for the onslaught that is our Saturday show on the 24th. That's right, we're playing the last day of the festival, and will be one of the last bands to play outside of Fitzwilly's before Sister Hazel closes out the festival.

We're pumped, basically because we have no idea what to expect. Hopefully it's not like every other time we've played outside...which has consisted of either playing in a driveway or someone's backyard for a graduation party...pretty sure it should be a tad bit cooler than that.

Trapping Bears Is Harder Than It Looks

Well, when you have that much fun playing a show, you should really write about it...so we did. Check out the past to see what type fun you missed out on, here's a Hint...eh, Hint...band photos in the bathroom, holes in the wall and Burger King...that's all I'm sayin.
