Think Of It As A Post-it Note

Hey everyone, just wanted to jog the memories of people who can't remember things for more than a week at a time...or bother to write things down...

...the big Onken-Stein Records Compilation CD Release Party is this Friday at the Barley Street Tavern. The new, 3-song EP, "Pulling Focus," features brand new music from us, Third Frate, and a little side project band called PG-13 that features members of both bands. Should be the best Friday, February 1st, 2008 you've ever had!

We're on "Planet O"...Tonight!

For people who listen to the radio, or radio listeners, be sure to tune into 89.7 the River a little before 8pm tonight. Taylor Stein will be in the studio to promote the Onken-Stein Records release of the compilation disc "Pulling Focus," and will be playing our newest song, "Please Baby Please," along with the rest of the songs on the compilation disc that features us, Third Frate, and PG-13.

This will be a chance to listen to all the tunes before the big CD release party on Feb. 1st at the Barley Street Tavern!

And how!

Who's The Big Winner...

Mikey! Mikey's the big winner!

Swingers references aside, this is actually the first time in 5 attempts that we can say we're the big winner in a Battle of the Bands. And while that's a horrible free throw percentage, it's a decent batting average. So, thanks to all of your support we won the BOTB last night at Knickerbockers and get to open for Deep Blue Something on Feb. 21st! We ended up having the biggest turnout and the best set according to the judges, so we're in like Flint.

You can read more about the set by going here.

And these are the details that we know about the Deep Blue Something show:

News!...Without The Car Driving Into The Set!

Come on, you all saw that video, right? A car drives into a news set in New York and I'm the only one who's seen it? Come on now...

The big news for the start of 2008 is that our record
label, Onken-Stein Records, is releasing a 3-song
compilation EP titled "Pulling Focus," which features
our new song "Please Baby Please." So please mark
your calendars for Feb. 1st because the CD Release
Party will be that night at The Barley Street Tavern
in Omaha. The show starts at 9pm and will feature all
the artists on the label; us, Third Frate, and PG-13.
Plus there'll be a special acoustic performance by
Seume, a Grassland Records artist from Kansas City.
Should be a great night of music and be sure to come
out early and catch PG-13, a little side project band
that consists of members from Ten O'Clock Scholars and
Third Frate. You won't want to miss that set that
starts right at 9pm.

And a bonus, tune into 89.7 the River's "Planet O"
show on Sunday, January 20th at a little before 8pm to
hear all the songs off of "Pulling Focus" for the
first time! Hopefully this isn't the last time
either, as PG-13's "Cry, Cry, Cry" may be getting a
spin on 89.7's PS Blues show on Jan. 27th!

Also, on Thursday, January 17th, we'll be playing in a
battle of the bands at Knickerbockers in Lincoln. If
we win this show we get to open for Deep Blue
Something at Knickerbockers in February. Deep Blue
Something had the hit single "Breakfast at Tiffany's"
in the late 90's, so be sure to come out and tell them
that you're there to see the Ten O'Clock Scholars.
We're judged on the number of people we have there and
our set.

And in unfortunate news, our show at P.O. Pears in
Lincoln on Feb. 8th has been cancelled. The booking
guy double booked the night so we won't be sharing the
stage with Sarah Benck and the Robbers that night, but
plans are to rebook the show later in the year.

Oh, and watch that promo video again...just to get you all jazzed up so you start freaking out the people around you.
